Where I Buy Cameras and Films in Bangkok

People often ask me where I usually buy film cameras and supplies in Bangkok. It’s a mix really—sometimes from a camera market, sometimes from the ‘Bay or Facebook Marketplace. You can of course go to the 5th floor of the famed Mega Plaza in Chinatown, but I find that to be a bit overwhelming and disorienting, and I rarely get anything there except getting my cameras fixed. So if you’re looking for reputable camera dealers in Bangkok, here are the shops I recommend. They are trustworthy, friendly, and their cameras are not junk. Of course these are not all of the camera shops in Bangkok. I am only listing the ones I have bought from and had good experience with. Many of the stores are online based, so to buy you may have to transfer cash into their bank accounts as they usually do not accept credit cards. That’s Thai-style online shopping for you.

Cameras

Around the Film
They have a store in Rod Fai Market. They usually sell entry level cameras and point and shoots.

AV Camera
A long established camera store. They sell mostly new digital gears, but they also have consignment pieces. You can also sell yours.

The Eye
One of the reputable camera shops in Mega Plaza. They specialize in Leicas and all of their lenses.

Film Camera 101
One of my favorite camera sellers. Although he specializes in Nikon, he does have other systems as well. And all of the cameras are inspected and cleaned by the shop owner.

JJ Camera
Affordable point and shoots. Although sadly they have pivoted to selling “digicams” as of late…

Kamera Craft
A premier camera store selling high end and mint condition gears.

Papagor
I was first attracted to this store by its Instagram posts. The owner, who’s a commercial DOP, takes photos of the cameras for sale in the style of 80s-90s camera advertisements. I even bought a print.

The Shutter

Another premium seller at Mega Plaza, specializing in Leica and other high-end cameras.

Viewfinder
A respected establishment for film camera servicing and CLAs.

Wherever Film
A great shop for entry level and point and shoots. They also sell pro-level cameras now and then.

Films

(*= also a film lab)

A&B Digital* [Also on Shopee]
This place used to be a go-to film camera store back when film was affordable.

A Film [Also on Shopee, LINE]

Aotzy [Also on Shopee]
They sell a lot of re-spooled films, including movie films. An option for when film is scarce and expensive.

BKK Film on Shopee

Fotoclub* [Also on LINE]
The epitome of the film resurgence in Bangkok. This is a lab, store, and gallery. It helps that they’re in the most photogenic neighborhood in Bangkok. They also host photowalks.

Husband and Wife*
A film shop and cafe in the outskirt of Bangkok, the store is run by renowned Thai street photographer, Artyt, who also has his own YouTube channel.

Lert’s*
A great film lab and shop that offers high quality printing service.

Sheep Film

Songfilm

Sweet Film* [Also on Shopee, LINE]
This is now my go-to lab and film shop. Try their motion picture film Everfilm.

Accessories

A Rai Film [Also on Shopee]
My go-to online store for affordable vintage camera parts and accessories, such as finders, filters, hoods, etc.

Chom Porr
I found this shop by chance at a market. They use traditional fabrics from around Thailand to make the straps.

Find Rare Items
This store is magic — and that’s an understatement. Whatever accessories or parts you’re looking for, they have them. And even if they don’t, they will find it for you. For a price of course.

Qilin
Another seller of fabric camera straps. They also sell bag and guitar straps.

Roy Rum Luk
A seller of all things vintage camera accessories. They usually release their stuff in batches of the same system so you can find all related accessories together.

Snap
Fabric camera straps. I own several.

Camera Markets

Fortune Town
This electronics mall plays host to a film camera fair several times a year.

Hub of Photography
A photography-focused event space and gallery. They also host film camera markets occasionally.

Kraft Kraft
A small craft markets that usually include a few camera stalls.

Lido Connect
An event space in the middle of youth town Siam. They often host film camera markets throughout the year.

Made by Legacy
A famous “hipster” market, selling everything old and antique, including cameras.

Mega Plaza
The mecca of used photo equipment. Just head straight to the 5th floor.
